CHAT TRANSCRIPTIONS

Monarchs Player,  Noah Clarke entered the AHL chat room on Jan. 29th

Here are the questions / answers !

Randy, Manchester, NH  Noah, you were called up to L.A. back in mid-December and I was wondering if you could comment on the difference in play in the NHL vs. the AHL regarding speed, organization and overall feel. Thanks!
Noah  The big difference is the size and the speed of the players. NHL players are the best in the world. I was pretty nervous being up for the first time but I enjoyed it.

Sam   Im from about the same area of Southern California as yourself (Im from Chino), how does it feel to have been the first native born SoCal player to have played for the Kings? Im sure you were just swamped with ticket requests!
Noah  I did not realize it at first that I was the first native player to play for the Kings.

I received over 20 requests for tickets to both games.

It was quite a thrill to have my parents and family at my first NHL game.

Shannon   I was wondering if you had any diet/training tips for the young athlete.
Noah  I try to eat a balanced diet. It is very important to stay away from unhealthy food such as fast foods.

Hydration is very important. I drink a lot of fluids before and after games.

It is key to keep my body in good shape because we play so many games.

andrea  what do you like to do in your in your free time???
Noah  Being a big movie guy, I rent and go to a lot of movies. I also like to read a lot, especially on road trips.

I also hand out with my teammates and like to travel in the off season.

Jeff McKinney  Noah, I am a season ticket holder at Colorado College and have watched you while at CC. I have enjoyed watching you develope your game. My question... How would you describe the difference between the AHL and the WCHA?
Noah  The biggest difference is the size of the rinks. The rinks were much larger in college and without a two line pass, the game was more open.

In the AHL, rinks are a bit smaller and the play is more structured. The pro game is also more defensive minded.

Charlene  Hi Noah
I am a great fan and a season ticket holder for the Monarchs. You guys are great. Can you tell me what it is like to play in front of all those fans that turn out to see you guys play.
Good luck witht the rest of the season and bring home the cup
Noah  It is awesome to play in front of such large and enthusiastic crowds.

I think we have the best fans in the AHL.

My teammates and I appreciate all the support that our fans give us each game.

Thank you for your support.

Marl  Noah - what has been your favorite experience playing in Manchester?
Noah  When I scored my first pro hat trick that was a lot of fun. It was a great game and a memorable experience since I only has one hat trick in college.

Amanda  What AHL team do you find the most difficult to be matched up against?
Noah  We have tough games with a lot of teams. Lowell always gives us a battle and Hartford always plays well against us.

Sean  What is the toughest obstacle you have encountered throughout your hockey career?
Noah  Probably my size. There were a lot of questions about my size and being able to move on to the next level of hockey.

I just work hard each day to imporve my game and have done so at each level of hockey.

Curt  You and Pavel Rosa will be playing against Steve Kelly and Bryan Muir in the All-Star Game. Is there a friendly wager on the outcome between you guys?
Noah  There has not been any wager yet.

Im sure there will be something on the line, perhaps lunch.

Bragging rights will definately be at stake.

Jeff in Manchester  Congratulations on being named to the AHL All-Star Game. What do you think your strongest event would be in the Skills Competition?
Noah  The puck control relay would probably be my best event. I can use my speed to my advantage.

I probably will not compete in the hardest shot competition

Sean  Who will win the Super Bowl?
Noah  The Pats for sure!

Moderator  Any last words...?
Noah  Thank you for the questions today. I appreciate the support.

Thank you also for the great fan support in Manchester.
